About Viroqua Heritage Inn
In the style of a small town boutique hotel, The Viroqua Heritage Inn is comprised of two 1890’s Historic Landmark Homes each named after local distinguished founding residents… Eckhart and Boyle. These award winning, Victorian era, five-star properties are located on large, corner lots directly across the street from one another. The quiet residential neighborhood offers guests a restful respite from everyday busy life in an elegant and notoriously luxurious setting.
The Inn is popular all year round for both business and getaway travelers. It is conveniently located one short block from Viroqua’s National Downtown Historic District and just six blocks from our East Side Historic District. The Inn is ideally located to enjoy six downtown restaurants, four museums, our city park (Eckhart Park with a community-built playground), Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School, Youth Initiative High School, the Landmark Center, the Driftless Book Store (used books), seasonal farmers market, indoor public market and numerous interesting shops.
Nearby, here in the Driftless Region, you will find recreational opportunities galore. They include hiking around lakes and in the Kickapoo Reserve (8600 acres), biking (road and mountain), fishing (one of the top 10 trout fishing areas in the country), ice fishing on lakes or the Mississippi River, canoeing/kayaking the famous Kickapoo River, hunting, golfing at the Viroqua Hills Country Club, skiing, sledding, picnicking, ice skating, lots of spectacular motorcycling and much more. Shopping in the downtown district is diverse. Includes upscale thrift shopping, farmers market, antique, year around public market with 100 vendors, natural fiber arts, bike shop, rock shop and boutique opportunities. In addition, several entertainment opportunities are nearby. Live performances at the gorgeous restored Temple Theatre, The Underground Theatre, The Commons Theatre, Driftless Books and the Landmark Center Theatre are just blocks’ away. Nearby, Pierce Hill Performing Arts offers classical to pop events in a newly built barn. Check their individual web sites for year around events.
As a professional Inn, whether you stay at the Eckhart House or the Boyle House, you will find that the philosophy of extreme hospitality, comfort and amenities easily makes you feel welcome and at home. A great place for everyone!

This house features beautiful leaded and stained-glass windows, gorgeous quarter-sawn red oak and maple woodwork and staircase, hardwood floors, a Queen Anne tower with witches-cap and lots of decorative architectural features. The 1st floor parlors both have fireplaces and the music parlor has a Baby Grand piano which at one time belonged to silent movie star Coleen Moore.
